The Schuttershofstraat in Antwerp has gained a new clothing store since this morning. Football commentator Aster Nzeyimana and actress Lize Feryn opened their pop-up today, where they will sell their own fashion label Mélange until March 3. After two years of dreaming and planning, they are now starting this new adventure together.
“It is a wonderful feeling to see the clothes come to life on the people,” Aster responds in front of the ATV cameras. “That’s actually the best feeling. We could also just have a webshop at home and send packages, but then there is nothing in it for us.”
“And it really is the best feeling to see someone trying something on, and to fall a little in love with that reflection in the mirror,” Lize adds.
In the pop-up, the couple will sell a ‘genderless’ collection, inspired by their own style. “A beautiful blend of local and international influences, for all origins, backgrounds and genders,” they call it.
The duo’s planning allows that at least one of the two can always be in the store. A month of hard work, because the pop-up is open every day. An experience that still seems unreal. “Why the fuck did we open a store? Look at us here now,” Aster laughs.
At the opening of the business on Friday, a lot of nice people came over. Jani Kazaltzis, Kat Kerhofs, Jolien Roets and Flo Windey, among others, were present.
