“We feel like we are being neglected.” The lawyers of Abdellatif Belarbi (50) hit out hard at the Public Prosecution Service on Friday. An incorrect date on a report led to an incident on the sixth day of the trial, which was also peppered with stories about drug trafficking in the hair salon in De Panne. “The hairdresser’s terrifying scream remains with me to this day,” testified the manager of an adjacent sandwich shop.

On the night of September 2 to 3, 2020, 31-year-old Alban Demora visited the Le Salon hairdressing salon in Sloepenlaan in De Panne. It is not yet clear what exactly went wrong. What is certain is that the man was brutally killed with a hunting knife by the Moroccan hairdresser Abdellatif Belarbi (50). A passerby found his body the next morning and notified the emergency services. However, no further help could help Demora. Now Abdellatif is on trial for murder.
