The suspected Belgian perpetrators of a violent street robbery in Maastricht last July are still on the run. The police hope to spot them by paying attention to them in a Belgian investigation programme.

The robbery took place in broad daylight on Monday, July 31, on Bourgognestraat in Maastricht. The perpetrators targeted the watch of a 76-year-old man and violently stole it. The victim suffered a heavy fall.

Surveillance camera images show that the man was followed by two men who arrived at the station in Maastricht with a train from Liège at approximately the same time as the man. The police shared those images before, but that did not lead to the arrest of the suspects.

It is suspected that these are Belgians. That is why the police decided to collaborate with the Belgian crime journalist Faroek Özgünes. The item he made about the robbery can be seen on the website from Sunday The last news.
