The blockade on the E429 at the Nijvelsesteenweg in Halle continues today. As a result, a truck with long wooden beams briefly lost its way north and got stuck in the Vogelweelde district near Zilverberk primary school.

The fact that cars but also trucks, sometimes with special transport, cannot continue on the motorway due to the blockage on the E429 but have to rely on other roads, has its consequences. They are required to drive onto the Nijvelsesteenweg, either towards Sint-Rochus or Essenbeek.

This also happened to an exceptionally long truck, loaded with long wooden beams. The driver got lost looking for a place where he could get back on the highway.

But at the intersection of Goudvinkenlaan, Zwaluwenlaan and Balthazarstraat he got completely stuck. At that moment, the first schoolchildren from the Zilverberk school, which was a little further away, had already arrived.

The police arrived on the scene and eventually, an hour and a half later, the driver managed to free himself under supervision without any damage. He was escorted further to the highway. (IDH)
