Thierry Baudet, the leader of the Dutch Forum for Democracy party, has been attacked again. The party reported this on Monday on X. According to the party, Baudet is on his way to the hospital in Groningen. “It looks like everything will be fine,” FVD said in the message. The police have already arrested a suspect.

Nothing is said about where or when and with what he was attacked. The party was also unreachable. Videos circulate on X in which Baudet is beaten in a café, possibly with a bottle. He was supposed to be at a meeting in Zwolle this evening. It is not yet certain whether it will continue.

Baudet was previously attacked with an umbrella when he went to give a lecture in Ghent. He suffered a mild concussion.

Various politicians express their disgust at the incident. “Totally unacceptable that Thierry Baudet has been attacked again. I said it before and I’ll repeat it now: stay away from politicians. Always. I just wished Thierry Baudet a lot of strength and recovery,” said resigning Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Various Dutch politicians express their disgust at the incident. “Absolutely and completely unacceptable to physically attack and injure Baudet (again). This hits democracy hard. We seem to have learned nothing from 2002 and Pim Fortuyn,” says Pieter Omtzigt (NSC). “Disgusting and cowardly attack,” says Caroline van der Plas (BBB). “Violence is unacceptable!” Laurens Dassen (Volt) and Esther Ouwehand (PvdD) also want violence against politicians to stop. “Keep your hands off politicians, no matter how you disagree with someone. I wish Thierry Baudet strength,” said Dassen.
