Just like last year, Lambiek Fabriek also scores this year at the Brussels Beer Challenge. The brewery from Sint-Pieters-Leeuw managed to win three medals.

Lambiek Fabriek won gold with their Organic Geuze Nater-Elle, a biogeuze of 6.2 percent. The Young & Wild Fontan-Elle (6.3%) earned silver and the bronze went to the Oude Geuze Brett-Elle (6.3%). The latter may also carry the European Guaranteed Traditional Specialty logo.

For Jo Panneels and Jozef Van Bosstraeten of Lambiek Fabriek, the counter of Brussels Beer Challenge medals now stands at eleven. And they are proud of that.

“Our gueuzes, all three of which were awarded a medal after a professional jury had tasted them blind, it truly exceeds our wildest dreams,” says Jo Panneels. “In the meantime, two weeks ago we added a fourth gueuze blend to our range: the Sporty Geuze Origin-Elle. This is a gueuze for real athletes, the ‘wannabee’ athletes and the athletes who prefer not to exercise,” he laughs.

“For this Geuze we went looking for very soft and easy-to-drink lambics,” explains partner Jozef. “This results in a real everyone’s friend of 6.5 percent who never makes a fuss and knows his place next to his bigger brothers Oude Geuze Brett -Elle, Fontan-Elle and Natur-Elle.”

Lambiek Fabriek was founded in 2016 and is located in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. Jo and Jozef brew their lambic entirely themselves and then let it mature in oak barrels.
