The KNVB has also sent an invitation to Calvin Twigt and Billy van Duijl during the approaching international match. The duo from the Volendam youth academy have been called up for the Dutch Juniors and the Dutch Under 19s respectively. Both players are therefore not available for the cup match against Excelsior Maassluis on Thursday, November 16. Earlier, Imran Nazih was called up by Morocco to play at the Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia.
Calvin Twigt’s Dutch Juniors will play two matches in the coming international match. On November 16, Jong Gibraltar will be the opponent in Almere. The away match against Sweden’s peers is scheduled for four days later. With twelve points from four matches, the Dutch Juniors have made an excellent start to the qualifying cycle for the 2025 European Championship in Slovakia.
Billy van Duijl
Billy van Duijl can prepare for three European Championship qualifying matches for the Dutch Under 19s, which will be played in Luxembourg. Luxembourg is the first opponent on Wednesday, November 15. Three days later, Azerbaijan is the opponent, while on Tuesday, November 21, the international match ends with a meeting with Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the Under 19 team he will meet ex-FC Volendammer Givairo Read and fellow Dutchman Roy Steur.
