Intense shower zone coming: code yellow for rain in most of the country | Weather news

--

updateThe Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) has declared code yellow for rain in all Belgian provinces this afternoon. The warning applies from noon to early evening around 6 p.m. Only the Coastal Region seems to escape the heavy showers.

LOOK. This is what weatherman Frank Duboccage said yesterday about the weather for the coming days

This morning it will first be partly cloudy with some local showers, but during the course of the day the cloud cover and shower activity will increase further, the RMI reports. Heavy showers may develop, especially in the afternoon, which may be accompanied by thunder and gusts of between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour.

The RMI has therefore issued code yellow for heavy rainfall in the afternoon. An intense and structured shower zone will move over the country from west to east during the day. Rain amounts may rise to twenty liters per square meter or more in several places over a period of six hours from the afternoon, the RMI warns. According to the weather service, the north of the country seems to escape the most intense showers.
