The Belgian sailors made no progress at the European Championships 49er. Olympians Anouk Geurts and Isaura Maenhaut only arrived in Vilamoura in 24th place. Jan Heuninck and Yannick Lefèbvre did slightly better, finishing 19th in the south of Portugal.

  1. 5 p.m. 22. Belgians close the European Championships with 19th and 24th place. Today on the final day, Anouk Geurts & Isaura Maenhaut (49er FX) and Jan Heuninck & Yannick Lefèbvre (49er) can no longer hoist the sails. There was too little wind on the coast of the Algarve. The Belgian participants were therefore unable to make up any places. Geurts & Maenhaut thus finished in 24th (or 19th place without the non-European boats). A setback for the Olympic duo that was good for 4th place at the World Cup. Among the men, Lefèbvre and Heuninck sailed to 19th (or 15th) place. .
