In addition to shared bicycles, you will currently find three shared cars on the territory of Temse. “Since the start of the project, Temse has been leading in the Waasland in terms of use of shared cars,” says Alderman for Mobility Lieve Truyman (N-VA).
The municipal council of Temse is committed to shared mobility. There are currently three vehicles available on the territory, but it doesn’t stop there. In the long term, electric shared cars will be added, also in the sub-municipalities. “There is interest among the residents,” says Alderman Truyman. “Since the start of the project, Temse has been at the forefront in the Waasland in terms of use of shared cars.”
The municipality wants to emphasize the ecological benefits of the project. “By focusing on ‘green’ subsystems, we work to achieve climate objectives such as reducing CO2. Sharing systems make people think more about their journeys and ensure less car use,” says Alderman for Sustainability Tineke Van Britsom.
For those who are not yet used to the system and driving an electric car, the municipal council, together with Interwaas and Autopartners, is organizing a free test moment. On November 25, interested parties can go to Frans Boelplein 1 in Temse for practical explanations and a test drive. You can register via the Interwaas website.
