Teacher (27) who had sex with students released under conditions (Blankenberge)

The Bruges council chamber decided on Friday morning to release 27-year-old TL under conditions. The teacher has been in jail since May after committing several serious sexual offenses in a secondary school in Blankenberge. The public prosecutor’s office will not appeal against that decision.

May 17, 2023. A secondary school in Blankenberge was suddenly in turmoil after some rumors. The 27-year-old popular teacher TL denied in front of the class that he had a relationship with an 18-year-old student, but decided to turn himself in to the police a few hours later. The news hit those around him and the school like a bomb.

At the police station, TL allegedly stated that he had been in a relationship with a student for years, but it did not stop there. The twenties also allegedly had sex with three other students, the youngest of whom was barely 14 years old.

TL has been in prison since then and also wanted to receive psychological guidance there. The twenty-year-old appeared before the council chamber several times, but each time it decided to extend the teacher’s detention. See you Friday morning. After almost six months in prison, the Bruges council chamber decided to release the twenty-year-old under conditions.

The public prosecutor’s office will not appeal against that decision.
