We hear that Lenniken resident Juul Wydooghe died unexpectedly at home in Eizeringen on November 9 after an unfortunate fall. Juul has meant a lot to the cultural life in the municipality.
Juul Wydooghe (70) was active in the Lennik Cultural Council for a long time and was also its vice-chairman and chairman, he had been involved since the heyday of the major art and hobby exhibitions in the sports hall. Wydooghe was also active in, among others, the youth work policy plan steering group (plan required to receive Flemish subsidies for youth work) and the Gecoro – municipal committee for spatial planning in Lennik.
With the Flemish Circle Lennik and the Rodenbach Fund, he organized lectures and various fascinating exhibitions in Lennik, which attracted visitors from far beyond the municipal boundaries. As an educational employee for Vorming & Community vzw and Rodenbachfonds Vlaams-Brabant (the Rodenbachfonds is now called Cultuurlab Vlaanderen) for many years he organized monthly cultural excursions to exhibitions, museums and (historical) city centers throughout the country, which he also meticulously prepared and supervised himself. , and produced a regular cultural newspaper. He also knew a lot about our region.
Juul was also a father and grandfather. Our condolences to the relatives. The funeral will be on Thursday, November 23 at 10 a.m. in the church in Eizeringen.
