On Friday, national coach Domenico Tedesco will announce his selection for the next international break. See if there are any surprises.
The Red Devils will face Serbia in a friendly match next Wednesday. The last European Championship qualifier against Azerbaijan will follow the following Sunday. It remains to be seen whether national coach Domenico Tedesco selects any unexpected names.
Francky Dury would already include Thorgan Hazard in the selection. He has gotten better and better in recent weeks and, according to his ex-trainer, certainly has added value to the national team.
“He holds the ball, he provokes fouls, he determines the pace… He gives animation to this team,” Dury tells Het Belang van Limburg.
Anderlecht will certainly enjoy him a lot. “With Hazard, Anderlecht can play champions. I mean that. I don’t see which team is in a better position today. Okay, Union, they have a very strong team. But Anderlecht has the advantage that it does not play European football.”
And he can also add value to the Red Devils, according to Dury. “For me, Doku is not a competitor for Thorgan,” Dury says.
“Doku makes the difference in the last twenty meters and he is currently at world level in that regard. Thorgan is more flexible, he can complement Doku. The two can play perfectly together, I’m sure.”
