The 27-year-old woman from Pelt who died in an accident in Riethoven in the Netherlands on Monday afternoon is Carmen Geerdink. She was of Dutch origin and had only been living with her partner in Boseind since the beginning of 2022.
Around 4.45 pm on Monday, two cars collided head-on on the Westparallel (N69) near Riethoven and Dommelen in Bergeijk. An air ambulance arrived on the scene, but no help could be provided to a 27-year-old woman.
In Boseind, the neighborhood in Pelt where victim Carmen Geerdink lived with her partner, the response was shocked on Tuesday. “So young, it’s terrible. She had only recently bought a house here with her boyfriend. That was last year in February. They were still developing their entire lives,” says a local resident. “They were a friendly couple. They always said hello when you met them, but because they had not lived here for long, they were not yet very well known in the area.”
