On November 18, Emilie Vansteenkiste will represent our country at the Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador. Still a week and a half to go, but Emilie already left for the Central American country a few days ago. A busy schedule awaits her, with many rehearsals, fitting moments, jury interviews and day trips, with the election itself as the climax.
During the show, Emilie will wear an outfit that combines her own personality and a Belgian component. “I’m wearing my Latin dance dress, which is quite emotional and personal,” she tells Radio2 in Flemish Brabant. “I dance a lot, I also take part in competitions and I have already won competitions with this dress, so it feels good that I can wear that dress.”
But her dress has a long train, designed by Princess Delphine. “We wanted an outfit that was personal and Belgian at the same time, and that’s why we contacted her,” says Emilie enthusiastically. “She was immediately involved in the story, we didn’t even have to insist.” Result: the princess also had the heart print that she uses in her own clothing printed on the train of Miss Belgium.
