Union SG is a club that completes transfers very sensibly. The people of Brussels bring in young players who are given time to grow. They can take steps forward in the shadows. Two young Belgians are given that time, but have already managed to show themselves.

Union SG made a nice deal by signing Fedde Leysen from PSV for free. He was able to go to many other foreign and Belgian clubs, including Antwerp, but he immediately fell in love with the Union SG project.

Getting Leysen ready for next year

Leysen is a physically strong defender, who also has a good tight pass. He reminds Wesley Sonck of Jan Vertonghen in terms of profile. Leysen is currently a bencher at the leader of the Jupiler Pro League. He has already appeared six times in the competition (three times), Europa League (2 times) and in the Belgian Cup (1 time).

As a left-footed central defender, who can also play as a left back, Leysen has an interesting profile. He now mainly has to tolerate Koki Machida. However, the Japanese seems to be the next player after the season who can dream of a top transfer. With Leysen, Union SG is already preparing his successor.

If he continues to make progress, he could eventually move on to the Red Devils. For now he is part of the promises.

Sadiki proves Riemer wrong

Union SG managed to complete a nice transfer in the summer by signing Noah Sadiki from Anderlecht for just 1.5 million euros (with the necessary bonuses attached). Brian Riemer didn’t really like it there, although it is strange that someone like Amadou Diawara was still preferred.

Sadiki, still only 18 years old, proves the RSCA coach wrong. He has already started six times and Aleksander Blessin sees him as a defensive midfielder. Sadiki has great running ability, is relatively fast and has very good technique. He has already played in 16 matches and if he continues this way, he will eventually be on the radar of bigger clubs.

The young Sadiki, who chose Union SG over AA Gent and Burnley, seems to have been yet another smart transfer. They also have to pay attention at the Belgian federation. He has already played two friendlies with the Congo U20. His official choice has not yet been made. With his talent and versatility, he can also play at center back and as a right back, he may also be an interesting player for the Red Devils in the long term.
