Young man (24) in danger of life after hit-and-run accident: driver arrested for questioning (Beringen)

The suspected driver who committed a hit-and-run accident after a serious accident on Albert I-laan in Koersel reported himself to the police on Wednesday evening. A 24-year-old man from Antwerp was seriously injured in the collision around 2 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the latest information, the man in his twenties is in acute danger to his life.

The local police Beringen/ham/Tessenderlo received a report around 2 am on November 1 of a man who was found next to the road. The seriously injured 24-year-old man was lying next to a parked vehicle on Albert I-laan in Beringen and had to be taken to hospital. The driver was not found. The victim, living in Antwerp, but born and raised in Beringen, is in intensive care where he is fighting for his life.

He was on the cycle path on the right side of the road and was walking in the direction of Koersel center. Finally, in the early evening on Wednesday, the suspected perpetrator of the hit-and-run crash went to the police. It concerns a 42-year-old man from Koersel. He was arrested and will be interrogated.
