In the interview, Shakira openly spoke of her divorce, it becomes clear, among other things, that she sacrificed a lot for her other half. “As a footballer he wanted to play football and win titles and I had to support him. I mean, one of us had to make a sacrifice, right? And I did it. I put my career on the back burner and came to Spain to support him so he could play football and win titles. It was a sacrifice of love,” she said. “It has allowed my children to have a mother present and I have a great bond with them that is unbreakable.”
Shakira adds that she finds the divorce process extremely difficult. “I’ve tried to process it all, but it’s hard to talk about it. Mainly because I’m still going through it, because I’m in the public eye and because it makes our divorce not like a regular divorce. It is not only hard for me, but also for my children.”
The Hips don’t lieThe singer also has additional concerns on her mind. Her father’s health is failing and she is accused of tax fraud. “I feel like these are the darkest, hardest hours of my life,” he said. Shakira and Pique were together for eleven years. They have two sons together, Milan (9) and Sasha (7).
