Rock star Bruce Springsteen’s mother Adele has died at the age of 98. Her son announced this himself on social media. She suffered from Alzheimer’s disease.
“I remember hearing your alarm go off in the morning. I would lie in bed and hear you getting ready for work. The sound of your make-up box on the sink. And the women in the office with their lipstick, perfume and skirts, and how happy you always looked when you walked home,” Springsteen writes on Instagram with a video of him dancing with his mother. He quotes from The wisha song he wrote for and about his mother.
Adele Springsteen had Alzheimer’s disease, her son announced in July 2021. In an interview with Today he told her how difficult it was for her. “She can’t talk. She can’t stand up. She can’t feed herself. But when she sees me, she smiles and I get a kiss. And she makes a noise when she sees me. I know the sound means ‘I love you’.”
Adele Springsteen was no stranger to his fans. She regularly appeared on stage during performances to dance along, and The Boss himself talked about her several times in interviews. She was 98 years old.
