Happy news for Robin Staldeur (22): the Antwerp twenty-something who appeared in the VRT 1 series Taking care of mom has obtained his diploma. Presenter Kristel Verbeke was present at his proclamation.
At the end of last year, Flanders sympathized en masse with Robin Taking care of mom (VRT1). His story about growing up in a dilapidated flat in Willebroek, the unexpected death of his mother and limited financial resources making a good future difficult, made a lot of sense to the reader. Béa De Haes, who knew Robin through her now deceased son, did not know in what circumstances Robin lived. More than 20,000 euros was raised for the twenty-somethings through a support campaign.

And now there is again happy news for the young man. He succeeded in his training and has obtained his diploma as an intercultural employee. Not only Robin’s friends and youth worker Fatih De Vos were present at the proclamation, but also Taking care of mompresenter Kristel Verbeke. She shares a photo with Robin on Instagram. “Yes! Diploma has been received and I am so proud of Robin,” she writes.
