“An incredible result,” says ‘Vertigo’ editor-in-chief Steven Tuffin. In addition to the many film fans, Tuffin also thanks the production houses and other players from the Flemish film sector who supported ‘Vertigo’. “It is gratifying to notice that certain important film figures really appreciate our work.”
Yet it is not all roses and moonshine. “We may have collected a nice amount, but it is still only a fraction of what we actually need to keep the magazine running both in print and online in the coming years,” he then says. “That is why we are still looking for a structural solution, but the loss of VAF support remains tangible.”
The organization was previously told that they can no longer count on subsidies from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF) for the period 2024-2027. Nevertheless, the organization continues to look for other ways to finance the film magazine. They continue their course with a new song that will be released next Wednesday.
