ShowbizThis week the spectacle musical ‘Red Star Line’ had to disappoint its audience twice. In both cases the performance could no longer go ahead due to technical problems. “The spectacle musicals in the Studio 100 Pop-Up Theater in Puurs are particularly complex,” says Studio 100.
Yesterday evening, a full house was waiting in the Studio 100 Pop-up theater in Puurs for a performance of the spectacle musical ‘Red Star Line’ when things suddenly went wrong. The performance was supposed to start at 8:30 PM, but fifteen minutes later the audience was told that there were technical problems. About half an hour later the problem would have been solved, but that turned out to be too early. Because a little later the cast walked onto the stage to announce that the performance would be cancelled. It was said that further communication about how this cancellation can be handled would be communicated early next week.
Last Friday, technical problems also threw a spanner in the works for ‘Red Star Line’, resulting in the cancellation of the performance.
“The spectacle musicals in the Studio 100 Pop-Up Theater in Puurs are technically groundbreaking and exceptionally complex,” Studio 100 explains. “The entire team, in front of and behind the scenes, works extremely hard every day and with a lot of passion to realize this technical feat. That is why we think it is a great shame that we had to stop 4 of the 130 performances of Red Star Line. In that case, the audience will receive an invitation to view the performance at another time. After all, as Studio 100 we want to offer a unique and high-quality theater experience.”
Also in May, technical problems at ‘Red Star Line’ resulted in the cancellation of two shows. Even then it involved problems with a grandstand. Both the afternoon performance and the evening performance could therefore no longer take place.
