These days, viewers of ‘Blokken’ not only hear off-screen the familiar jury voice of Kris Soret, who has been editor-in-chief of the program for more than 25 years. This season he is assisted by ‘Petra from production’, who prefers to avoid the spotlight.
“Every season new ideas are discussed to adapt or renew the program. For example, there has been a new decor since September and game round 2 also received an update. In addition, it was decided to add a second jury vote,” says VRT spokesperson Yasmine Van der Borght. For the time being, the intention is for it to remain a dual track.
Petra, who has been involved in the production for some time, prefers to stay out of the spotlight. However, she is not ready for her test piece. At the beginning of 2020, she replaced Soret in one episode, after he had a minor traffic accident on the way to the recordings with only damage to the body. “When the idea for a second jury vote came up, the choice was quickly made,” says Van der Borght.
