Britain’s Prince William said Friday that his wife Kate is “doing well” in a rare public statement about the Princess of Wales as she undergoes preventive chemotherapy for cancer.
Kate announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery she underwent earlier this year. She said at the time that she was doing well, but Kensington Palace also stressed that they would not be providing regular updates on her health.

But Prince William did provide a rare update on his wife’s condition on Friday. During a visit to a hospital on the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall in south-west England, he replied: “She is doing well, thank you.”
The heir apparent, who is also the Duke of Cornwall, is on a two-day trip to the region, where he viewed a site for a new project to tackle homelessness and spent time on a beach with local groups and visited a community hospital.
