“I’m glad I saw your children in real life, because they are actually super cool children,” says presenter Otto-Jan Ham to the news anchor. “And they were also quite positive about you.” To which Goedele Wachters was surprised: “ah?” answers.
The best feature according to daughter Elien is that her mother “tries to help everyone as much as she can. She really makes sure that when there is a problem, it is solved with all her might,” she said. “She never actually thinks about herself,” says son Sander. “It’s always the other person first and when they’re happy, she thinks about herself,” he continues. Whereupon Wachters sheds a tear. “Now I’m going to cry, that’s not good.”
Although Otto-Jan Ham has something else in store. “I am of course a journalist, so I did ask some questions,” he says. “When we go on a trip, she always has a lot of stress,” said Elien when asked whether her mother also has bad qualities. “And the jokes could be better, I think. They are sometimes a bit bland,” Sander has to admit.
