Matthijs van Nieuwkerk and RTL work behind the scenes on a daily television program around the Olympic Games. That was said in RTL Boulevard. It is not yet certain that the program will be implemented.
The program must follow RTL Boulevard last 21 days. It is planned to be on television daily and recorded in Paris. The Olympic Games are there this summer. The program will be shown during the time slot of evening talk shows on RTL.
It is not yet entirely certain that the program will be available, according to RTL. It is being investigated whether it is “productionally feasible”. “That has to do with locations and costs. As soon as we can tell more about this, we will release it,” says a spokesperson.
The news comes a day after a report about misconduct at the NPO. Van Nieuwkerk previously apologized for inappropriate behavior at The World Keeps Turning (DWDD), the program he made for the public broadcaster for years. On Thursday it turned out that Van Nieuwkerk was in his time as a presenter of DWDD may also have been guilty of sexually and physically inappropriate behavior. He himself denies that.
In December, RTL reported that Van Nieuwkerk is making his return to the broadcaster, after the revelations about DWDD quit his job. It was not yet clear what kind of program it would be.
