movieDarren Aronosfky (54) will take on the task of directing the biopic of Elon Musk (52), trade magazine ‘Variety’ reports. Studio A24 won the rights to the biography, written by Walter Isaacson, and will now adapt it to a film.
In September, Walter Isaacson published the biography of tech magnate Elon Musk. After a bidding war between studios and filmmakers for the rights to the book, studio A24 will now make a film adaptation with Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky. The intention is that the recent biography will serve as a guideline.
Director Darren Aronofsky has already directed several renowned films, such as ‘Black Swan’ from 2010 and ‘The Whale’ from 2022. He is known for his surreal film style, which often contains psychological elements. For his work on ‘Black Swan’, Aronofsky was nominated for the Oscar for best director, but only lead actress Natalie Portman could win the award for best actress.
Mentally tortured
Musk’s biography was fiercely criticized after its release. ‘The Guardian’ described it as a “boring book without insight”. The CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Musk also has an obsession with reproduction. Musk is currently number one in the ‘Real Time Billionaires’ list of the famous business magazine Forbes with a net worth of 223.8 billion dollars, about 209.7 billion euros.
It is not the first book by Walter Isaacson to be adapted into a film. The book ‘Steve Jobs’ was previously adapted into the 2015 Universal film of the same name, starring Michael Fassbender as Apple CEO.
