If you like the title Pirates of the Caribbean When you hear it, you probably immediately think of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. However, Keira Knightley has also appeared in quite a few films. One scene was difficult to shoot, but the actress is proud of it.
The first Piratesmovie, called The Curse of the Black Pearl, was released in 2003. In it, the actress can be seen as Elizabeth Swann, the governor’s daughter. At first she is quite a decent lady, but she becomes increasingly rough.
A turning point for her character is when she has to stand on the plank of the ship and jump into the water. Despite the fact that it was not an easy scene to shoot, as it took them two days to capture the perfect shot, Knightley found it quite an experience.
“I had to stand there for two days. Did you really think I wouldn’t jump off? I even did it in the long dress I was wearing. I thought it was super scary. I really screamed my lungs out“.
Knightley continues: “The only ‘interesting’ part was that as soon as I hit the water the dress ended up completely over my head, causing everyone to see my underwear. I think I came across as really ‘girly’, but I was proud of myself for daring to do this“.
