showbizTen years after the last episode of ‘Aspe’ on VTM, Herbert Flack (74) reprises the role of his legendary character, the Bruges chief inspector Van In. Next year he will be on stage with ‘Aspe, murder in the studio’. “After everything that happened to me, I have nothing to lose by taking up the role again,” said an emotional Flack.

“Aspe remains an iconic figure. I am convinced that the audience will again find it incredibly exciting to be present in a TV studio as a witness to a murder and to work with Van In to unmask the perpetrator. Moreover, I love that my good friend Herbert Flack can put on his leather jacket again to keep the research on track,” says co-writer Frank Van Laecke, who is also the creator of the concept, looking ahead enthusiastically.
The story takes place after Van In has retired. Just before the recording of a popular TV show, in which the chief inspector is the central guest, the director of the program is found dead. It soon turns out that the man was poisoned. The young inspector De Swaef is in charge of the investigation and soon discovers that there are more people in the studio who have an interest in the director’s death. Will De Swaef succeed in solving this complicated puzzle and will Van In manage not to interfere with the murder case? Together with the public, who witnessed the murder, everything is done to unmask the murderer.
