“I work in the entertainment industry myself and you don’t talk about which celebrities you are friends with,” Crosby says in a video. “But because someone took a photo and my name was mentioned, I have no choice but to be honest about it. Especially about how Matthew felt mentally the day before his death.”

“The conversation we had was very positive, he just acted normal. That is also why I want to talk to the media, to get to the bottom of the speculation,” says Athenna. “I’m not doing this for money or to be famous, I’m doing this to testify about his mental state before he died,” she continues.

“I discourage any false theory regarding his death,” he said. “He was completely fine and even talked about his future plans. He was very positive. But most of all I don’t want the attention to be on me. Matthew left such an important legacy.” She then also expresses her deepest condolences. “I would like to extend my condolences to the people who were important in Matthew’s life such as his parents, co-stars, family, friends and his network. The sadness they feel is much greater than mine, as I did not know him as well as they did. I happen to be in this situation because I met him again the day before he died.”

The actor’s assistant found Matthew Perry lifeless in his hot tub on October 29. The investigation into his death is still ongoing, but authorities do not suspect foul play. The actor is believed to have drowned, but the official cause of death is not yet known. However, no traces of fentanyl or meth were found in his system. Matthew Perry turned 54.
