ShowbizThings are getting better with ‘Temptation Island’ host Rick Brandsteder (39). In November last year it became known that the Dutch presenter had been admitted to a rehab clinic. In the ‘The perfect picture’, Brandsteder now explains that he had “become removed from himself”. “As a child I grew up with a well-known father. That’s why I never focused myself.”

“A few months ago I started this with a rotten head: I did not shy away from a party or a party,” said the ‘Temptation Island’ presenter in the Dutch program ‘The perfect picture’. “If you wake up completely fresh and clear now, it’s time to open your curtains and seize the day.”

The television face also said that he has always had the feeling that he was participating in “some kind of rat race”. “As a child I grew up with a well-known father. As a result, I went to autofocus and I never actually focused myself,” he said candidly. Partly because of this, Brandsteder became “away from himself”, although afterwards he did not go in the right direction. “If you try to numb that one more time, you will leave completely. I had to find myself again and that worked out pretty well.”

Brandsteder still describes the rehab clinic in which he ended up as a safe place. “Now the real work begins. I don’t want to blow too high off the tower either. I do everything nice and relaxed, as I will experience this day.”

In November 2022, it became known that Brandsteder had been admitted to rehab. His management would not say why he was there, but did say that the presenter was “working on himself”. A few months later, in January, it became clear that the presenter had left the clinic again. According to his mother, he had an alcohol addiction.
