TweakersSmartphone manufacturers often release their latest flagship products around this time. They can be pricey, but you don’t have to spend 1,000 euros at all to get a great device. Technology website Tweakers.be went in search of the very best smartphones for a (limited) budget of 350 euros.
Our colleagues from Tweakers.be tested 55 smartphones to find out what the best budget smartphones are. The favorite for 2022 is with flying colors the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G.
The best: Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G – from 337 euros
The Galaxy A52s is a fantastic basic device because it scores well in most areas. For example, it is equipped with a waterproof housing, which many other devices in this segment do not have. This smartphone also has long-supported software. There is a successor, the Samsung Galaxy A53, but it is more expensive and lacks an audio port for connecting wired headphones. The screen of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G has an impressive ‘refresh rate’ of 120 images per second, a high brightness and support for HDR. This means that you can continue to consult the device in the sun and that you can scroll very smoothly on, for example, a web store or social media.
The cameras are very good and the main camera even offers optical image stabilization, which will help you take better photos at night. We don’t see that much with smartphones in this segment. The A52s is also capable of taking very high-quality macro photos.

Well priced: Redmi Note 11 – from 184 euros
The Redmi Note series is a beloved phone series and that certainly applies to the Redmi Note 11. Especially if you are looking for a phone with a good screen, this is an ideal budget choice. It is one of the few phones in its price category with an OLED screen.
With the resolution of 2400×1080 pixels, its refresh rate of 90 hertz and its maximum brightness, the screen can keep up with phones in a higher segment. The color reproduction is also excellent. Despite all that splendor in terms of screen, it is not too bad how quickly the battery deteriorates. When browsing, you can count on a battery life of more than 12.5 hours. If you watch videos, it’s even better: over 20 hours! It is also recharged quite quickly: after half an hour of charging, you can go ahead for more than 7 hours with the Redmi Note 11.
