The Dutch trailer builder Vlastuin, which unexpectedly emerged as the third candidate acquirer at Van Hool on Friday, is said to have already dropped out. The editors of De Standaard heard this. With a turnover of 100 million euros, Vlastuin is a much smaller player than Dumarey Group and VDL/Schmitz. It is also much smaller than Van Hool itself, which in a normal year has a turnover of around 700 million euros.

The Dutch bus builder VDL and the German trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull had previously reported as potential buyers. They are working on a joint file. In addition, the Flemish entrepreneur Guido Dumarey had also shown interest in Van Hool. They are still in the running as a possible acquirer of Van Hool.

Dumarey Group and VDL/Schmitz have now both made an official offer. The final bid would also be higher than their initial bids.

The time for an agreement is running out, because Van Hool has set itself a deadline of March 31, given the acute lack of financial resources.
