Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, one of the richest people in the world, is moving. He leaves Seattle to settle in ‘Billionaire bunker’, or the ‘bunker of the billionaires’.

The 59-year-old Bezos reportedly paid 79 million dollars (more than 74 million euros) for his new home. It is a seven-bedroom mansion located on Indian Creek. That is an artificial island near Miami (Florida) that is also called ‘Billionaire bunker’, a nickname given to it by all the billionaires who settled there.

Some other famous residents include legendary American Football player Tom Brady, Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, top models Adriana Lima and Gisele Bündchen and Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner. In total there are about 40 homes on Indian Creek, supplemented with a police station and a country club.

According to the listing, Bezos’ new home will include approximately 1,770 square feet of living space, a swimming pool, a theater, a library and a wine cellar. The house is said to have been designed in a style that “radiates timeless European glamour”.

However, the estate is not the first home Bezos bought on the island. In June he also bought an adjacent home for 68 million dollars (almost 64 million euros). Both purchases together now give him an estate totaling 1.8 hectares.

In addition to the two houses on Indian Creek, Bezos also has several houses in Washington, a 9-hectare mansion in Beverly Hills (which he bought in 2020 for 165 million dollars or almost 155 million euros) and an estate on Maui (Hawaii). His exorbitant expenses have risen sharply since he resigned as Amazon CEO in 2021 and divorced MacKenzie Scott. Bezos is also the owner of one of the most expensive superyachts in the world, the Koru, which cost an estimated $500 million to build.
