A fire broke out in an outbuilding next to a house in Vossenstraat in Beervelde – a sub-municipality of Lochristi – on the night of Monday to Tuesday. The fire is said to have taken place at Hoeve Goed in Magerheit. The precise reason is not yet clear.
The police and fire brigade were informed and arrived on scene. “The fire was actually under control quite quickly,” the Puyenbroeck police zone said. The circumstances are now being fully investigated.
Drug lab clues
The East Flanders public prosecutor’s office was also appointed, because clues were found in the shed that could point in the direction of a drug lab. “The substances found are now being fully investigated,” the public prosecutor’s office said. “We have arrested one person. The man will be brought before the investigating judge.”
A fire expert was also appointed who will further investigate the precise nature of the fire.
