Every week your mailbox or letterbox is full of brochures and offers. Far too much to see the forest for the trees. What are the top businesses? And what are the catches? De Foldervreter will find it out for you. This week Albert Heijn is stunting with 1 plus 2 free promotionsyou can score Prince biscuits for half the price, Delhaize sells minced meat at rock-bottom prices and there is a did you know that you about one sprout.

Of actions a la one plus one free, we no longer look up. You will find these in the brochures every week. But Albert Heijn is giving it a whirl this week with three different ones one plus two free promotions. That is equivalent to a discount of just 66.7 percent. On what? Toilet blocks from the Witte Reus brand, cleaning spray from Glassex and Knorr Pasta Snackpots.

The latter are also in the brochures of Carrefour, Delhaize, Okay and Colruyt so that we can compare prices to see how great the promotion really is. In those other supermarkets you have to get six at a time to start with 3 plus 3 free or the 40 percent discount from six pieces at Colruyt. According to the brochures, you pay 6.45 euros for six pieces Pasta Snack Carbonara of 71 grams. At Albert Heijn it is 1.99 euros for three of those jars or 3.98 for six. That is 3.70 euros less than the promotion at Spar. More than worth the effort, although Colruyt will of course follow suit.

Prince cakes

Lovers of Prince biscuits should free up some space in the pantry. They are in the brochures at both Aldi and Carrefour. At Aldi it is 3 plus 1 freeat Carrefour it is 2 plus 2 free. The latter chain also has the best price: 3.32 euros/kg for the cookies filled with vanilla. At Aldi it is 4.99 euros/kg. For comparison: Delhaize does not have a promotion on Princekoeken, where you pay 6.63 euros/kg.

It is ideal weather for pumpkin soup with meatballs or meat loaf. And at Delhaize this week you can score cheap minced meat 1 plus 1 free. For example, you only pay 4.75 euros for a kilogram of minced pork and veal. Those are rock bottom prices. Lidl also has a promotion with the same minced meat, where you pay 4.99 euros for an 800 gram bowl. This is converted to 6.24 euros per kg.

In addition to the pork and veal minced meat, Delhaize also offers a discount on the vegan minced meat. There is one there too one plus one free so you only pay 6.3 euros per kg.

We end with one did you know that you about one sprout. How much does one sprout cost? I didn’t know, but at Carrefour they do know. While comparing some prices, I saw how you can order one Brussels sprout on the website of the French supermarket chain and it will cost you a maximum – depending on the weight – of 0.08 euros. Voilá, you never know when that knowledge will come in handy in a quiz.
