Message from ABBA members in the Eurovision Song Contest final

The members of ABBA make their appearance in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. They are part of an interval act celebrating exactly fifty years since their hit Waterloo won the event, as was evident at the first rehearsal on Friday.

During the finale, a message from the ABBA members will be shown, but it is not yet clear whether it is really about the quartet. The screens went black during this part. This may involve the holograms currently on display at the ABBA Voyage show in London.

After ABBA’s message, former Eurovision Song Contest candidates Charlotte Perrelli, Carola and Conchita Wurst sing the song Waterloo in the audience.

ABBA gave Sweden its first Eurovision win in 1974 in Brighton. Since then, the country has won six more times. Sweden, together with Ireland, holds the record with seven victories. For ABBA, the Eurovision Song Contest marked the beginning of a worldwide breakthrough.
