Poco F6 and F6 Pro presentation is coming

Put it in your calendar: on May 23 at 1:00 PM Dutch time, Poco will reveal the new Poco F6 and F6 Pro. The mid-range models follow the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro, but we expect few surprises. The F6 series is based on Xiaomi’s Redmi K70 smartphones, which previously appeared in China with price tags between 300 and 450 euros.

As a result, we know almost everything about the specifications, starting with the Poco F6 Pro. This is the top model of the two and comes with an older high-end chip: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This is still lightning fast and can easily handle demanding games. The F6 runs on a newer, but slower Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which makes the devices evenly matched.

Navigating through menus and apps will also be smooth, thanks in part to the 120Hz screens. These OLED panels have a size of 6.67 inches on both devices and are incredibly bright at 4000 nits, even outside in direct sunlight. With the 1440p resolution, the screens are even of higher quality than average.

Both phones have a 50-megapixel main camera for taking sharp photos and videos. The Poco F6 is expected to be equipped with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The F6 Pro goes one step further and comes with a 50 megapixel telephoto lens and 12 megapixel wide-angle lens.

Poco F6 and F6 Pro software, battery and storage

The Pocos run on Android 14 with the HyperOS shell, which means that the software looks quite different from standard Android. That shell does have useful features, such as a game mode for better performance, a new quick settings panel and more.

The phones are both expected to have a 5,000 mAh battery and can fast charge with up to 120 watts. In practice, the phones are fully charged within 20 minutes. There will be at least 128GB of storage space and 12GB of RAM on board.

The Poco F6 and F6 Pro may differ from their Redmi brothers in some areas. For example, the battery size may differ or there may be more or less RAM and storage space. For that, we are eagerly awaiting the Poco event.

Conclusion Poco F5 Pro review

We have extensively tested the predecessors of the Poco F6 and F6 Pro and we will tell you our experiences in the Poco F5 review and Poco F5 Pro review. Below you can read the conclusion of the latter.

The Poco F5 Pro is a powerful smartphone that has quite a lot to offer. The processor is very fast, the screen looks good and the battery life is more than excellent. Unfortunately, we are less pleased with the design, software and cameras. Poco’s software in particular remains a thorn in the side.

In the meantime, the prices of these smartphones have already fallen considerably. You can get a Poco F5 from €379 and the Poco F5 Pro now costs €449 new.
