On Wednesday afternoon, May 22, Hilversum councilor Arno Scheepers (economy, media & culture) will open the Mediaplein Mobiel. He does this together with the children of Versa Kinderwerk from the Bloemenbuurt. That afternoon they will unveil their own work in the Mediaplein Mobiel. Their memories, dreams or wishes for Hilversum can then be seen for the first time.

About the Mediaplein Mobile
Residents and visitors are invited to show their perspective of the city by depicting it in a viewing box. How do they see the future of the city? What memories do they cherish of Hilversum? What is their favorite place in Hilversum? The dioramas created are ‘scanned’ and then displayed in a life-size version of the diorama. The Mediaplein Mobile is, as it were, an XXL version of the viewing box: a ‘mini media museum’ full of large digital screens and media technologies.
Mediaplein Mobile, the stories of 600 years of Hilversum is a project of the Mediaplein Foundation in collaboration with the Hilversum media art collective DROPSTUFF MEDIA. The Mediaplein Mobiel could be realized thanks to contributions from the municipality of Hilversum, Hilversum600, Stadsfonds Hilversum and the project partners MOOS production house and NH Gooi.
