After a week, Tadej Pogacar is well on his way to winning the Giro for the first time. The first day of rest is scheduled for Monday, during which there may be time for some relaxation.

After nine of the 21 stages, Tadej Pogacar is comfortably in the lead in the Tour of Italy. The Slovenian has already won three stages and no one seems to be able to stand in his way when it comes to the overall victory.

Unlike his major Tour competitors, Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar is a little more relaxed and open. The Slovenian also enjoys life, even during the race. He regularly drinks a beer to relax.

Pogacar enjoys beer in Catalonia

That has not yet happened during the Giro, according to his manager Alex Carera HLN. “Before that, yes. The evening before the final stage of the Tour of Catalonia, Tadej talked to me for a long time and drank one beer.”

“One won’t hurt. It promotes recovery and helps you relax. Cycling has changed a lot in recent years, but the rider’s head is still more important than the legs,” says Carera.

Yet the beer did not hinder Pogacar during the last stage of the Tour of Catalonia. The Slovenian also won that last stage, his fourth in that Tour. The Slovenian also won the final classification.
