Anderlecht is currently in the lead in the JPL next to Club Brugge. The Purple & White did not get further than a 1-1 draw against Cercle Brugge.

With 4 games to go, Anderlecht are at the top of the rankings in the Champions’ Play-offs. Club Brugge has the same number of points but is currently in second place.

Union SG follows in third place with only one point less. The race for the title promises to be intense and exciting until the end.

Although Club Brugge and Union have convinced with their play recently, this does not apply to RSC Anderlecht. René Vandereycken recently said that he thinks the Purple & White brings the least football of the title candidates.

During the La Tribune broadcast, analysts discussed Anderlecht’s performance against Cercle Brugge. No one seemed convinced.

“It’s quite incomprehensible,” says Philippe Albert. “Anderlecht has quality players. You don’t fight direct football (like that of Cercle) with direct football.”

Marc Wilmots also sees that the Purple & White does not bring the best football. “It’s not in Anderlecht’s DNA to play like that.”
