Deinze took the lead at the end of the first half thanks to a wonderful goal from defender Gonzalo Almenara. The Limburgers had no answer. Deinze was in charge and extended his lead in the second half thanks to goals from Emilio Kehrer and Lennart Mertens from the spot.

In the other semi-final, Zulte Waregem and Lommel drew 1-1. The home team seemed to take the lead just before half time thanks to a header goal by Matheus Machado, but his goal was disallowed for prior hand play after a VAR intervention.

After the break it was a hit for the home team. The ball hit the spot just after the hour mark after a handball from Lommel midfielder Alex Granell. Jelle Vossen took responsibility and the captain knocked Lommel goalkeeper Jari De Busser.

Lommel seemed to be hanging on the ropes, but eventually hit back. Henry Oware put the 1-1 on the board with a clever place ball from outside the sixteen. The return match in Lommel is Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The two winners of the double confrontations will compete against each other in final matches on May 5 and 12. Whoever comes out on top will compete against the third-last ranked club in 1A on May 19 and 26 for a ticket at the highest level. That is currently RWDM.
