showbizGert Verhulst (56) and James Cooke (39) have shared the first details from the scenario of their ‘ZomerRevue’ in ‘The seventh day’. The show in the Plopsa Theater in De Panne was announced a while ago, but there was no script yet. Everything revolves around a time machine with which Gert and James travel in time, and even look ahead to James’ funeral.

James Cooke had put on a new suit jacket for the occasion. He often appears on TV. “But ‘The Seventh Day’ is special, because my mom always watches this program,” says James.

The ‘ZomerRevue’ will be a show with sketches, dance and spectacle. Karen Damen and Ruth Beeckmans are also participating. “The humor is accessible, that is also what people come for. That doesn’t mean it will be flat or vulgar. We are looking for a good balance,” Gert explained.

For the first time, he also provided details about the main theme of the show. In the story, James bought a time machine through an online website. “All sketches and all songs are linked to a certain time. We flash back to the time of Rubens, to the moment when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest. And we will also be flashed into the future. This is how we will celebrate James Cooke’s funeral, because he really wanted to experience his own funeral. So we arranged that. He mainly wants to see whether I will be sad enough,” says Gert, who is still working on the screenplay.
