Benjamin Deshon Provo (46) worked at West as a bodyguard, but also as a warehouseman in the warehouse for West’s Yeezy collection. He was “belittled” and “screamed at”, but the rapper also demanded that Provo shave off his dreadlocks and that he would fire him if he did not do so. In addition, books about black culture – including those by Malcolm X, Martin Luther King and other prominent figures – also had to be thrown away.

Provo also complained that he earned less than his white counterpart who did the exact same job. When he spoke to his manager about this, he said that Ye West does not like to deal with money matters. Provo filed a complaint for discrimination, hostile work environment and breach of the labor code.

This is not the first complaint against Ye from one of his employees. Trevor Phillips previously accused him of anti-Semitic and provocative statements against the LGBTQIA+ movement. That man also said that West is in favor of schools with built-in cells in which students can be locked up.
