The summery Queen Of My Castle by Kris Kross Amsterdam and Inna is the highest entry in the Dutch Top 40 this week. It is already summer in the list, because Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter and Zoet, Zout, Zuur by Robert van Hemert are new in the list.

30 (–) QUEEN OF MY CASTLE – Kris Kross Amsterdam & Inna
Queen Of My Castle is the next hit that Kris Kross Amsterdam adds to their successful formula. It is simple and very strong. Take a well-known hit from the 90’s or 00’s, tinker a little, add a well-known singer and a new Top 40 hit is a fact. Brothers Jordy and Sander Huisman and buddy Yuki Kempees have scored nineteen hits since 2016, both in Dutch and English. The latest from the Amsterdam trio is an adaptation of King Of My Castle. The original Wamdue Project reached number 2 in 1999. The singer on Queen Of My Castle, as the remake is called, is the Romanian Inna. You know her from hits such as Sun Is Up and Hot. Qmusic chose Queen Of My Castle as the Alarm disc.

33 (–) ESPRESSO – Sabrina Carpenter
If you know the Disney sitcom Girl Meets World, then you know who Sabrina Carpenter is. The American singer and actress, who turns 25 next week, played the role of Maya Hart for many years in the spin-off of the better-known series Boy Meets World. Sabrina was also seen in series such as Law & Order and Orange Is The New Black. She has also been singing for a number of years. For example, as a teenager she took part in a Miley Cyrus talent show. Sabrina ultimately placed third in The Next Miley Cyrus Project. After that she released an album and made it to the Tipparade twice. First with On My Way, together with Alan Walker and Farruko, and then Solo with Skin. Sabrina now scores her first hit with Espresso.

38 (–) SWEET SALT SOUR – Robert van Hemert
King’s Day came just in time for Robert van Hemert to quickly cross over from the Tip Parade to the Top 40. The 31-year-old singer from Leiden was at the forefront of the Sweet Salt and Sour list for no less than eleven weeks and it looked like he would be stranded there for a long time. The extra streams and airplay he received around King Willem-Alexander’s birthday have given Zoet Zout Zuur the final push in the right direction. Two years ago, Robert was the winner of the SBS6 talent show Hollandse Nieuwe, in which the new Dutch folk singer was sought. Robert then performed with De Toppers in the Johan Cruijff ArenA and now he is making his Top 40 debut.
