After the news broke that Dutch presenter Dieuwertje Blok (66) had to have her nose amputated due to skin cancer, Anita van der Linde shares her experience. She underwent the same operation eleven years ago because she suffered from a rare form of cancer. “At first I kept myself strong when I looked in the mirror, but after a few days I completely broke down,” she says. After a while, Anita started wearing prosthetic noses, which come in all shapes and colors. “I have my nose measured every season, so I get a light nose for the winter and a slightly darker nose for the summer.”
