She was absolutely not allowed to be seen there, but Meghan Markle was indeed near London yesterday. In great secrecy, she landed at Heathrow to join her husband. He had already spent several days in his home country to attend an event for the Invictus Games, of which he is still the royal face.
Harry and Meghan spent the rest of the evening together in the airport’s royal ‘Windsor Suite’ – especially for important and royal guests who don’t want prying eyes – until it was time to catch their shared next flight. The couple boarded a British Airways flight to Nigeria the same evening. They would have arrived there around 5 o’clock this morning for a short promotional tour through the country.
Normally, Meghan would have barely spent any time in London, but with their flight delayed due to a sick pilot, the Duchess spent several hours in the UK. While experts believe that she will never publicly walk the streets there again: “Meghan would receive too much attention, and not always positive. She doesn’t feel like it, and neither does the royal family.”
