Real Martha from ‘Baby Reindeer’ reveals her identity: “I’m not a stalker at all” | TV

--

TVThe real ‘Martha’ from the Netflix series ‘Baby Reindeer’ steps out of the shadows. Fiona Harvey (58), as she is called in real life, wanted to personally tell her story after much ink has already been spilled about the true story behind the series. She did this on Piers Morgan’s talk show. “I’m not a stalker at all.”

In ‘Baby Reindeer’ we see how actor Richard Gadd (34) plays himself and tells one of the most captivating stories of his life. He says he was stalked for years by a woman called ‘Marhta’ in the series. It concerns an overweight Scottish woman with brown, curly hair.

Fiona recognized herself as the woman in question, and is not happy with the way she is portrayed. She said this last night in the talk show of British presenter Piers Morgan. “What you see in the series is completely made up,” she says in an exclusive interview. “Gadd is a psychotic misogynist.”

Richard Gadd claims, among other things, that Fiona sent him 41,000 emails, 350 hours of voicemails, 744 tweets and 106 letters. “I sent him a few emails, a few tweets, and one letter,” Harvey said. “That is a major exaggeration. I’m not a stalker. Moreover, he claims that I assaulted his girlfriend. I don’t think he had a girlfriend at all, or at least none that I know of. Let alone that I would have touched her.”

Fiona also emphasizes that, contrary to what we see on TV, she has never been convicted and therefore never went to prison. “I wasn’t obsessed with him at all. He tried to have sex with me, but I showed him the door. I don’t like little boys without a real job,” she lashes out at Gadd’s career as a comedian.

Nuisance

Fiona believes she has been harassed on and off the internet since the show premiered. “The inconvenience is enormous,” it sounds. “I haven’t even seen the series itself. I don’t want that either, it already has enough influence on my life. But I constantly get phone calls with death threats, they know where to find me everywhere. I’m really tired of all the drama. It is very damaging to my reputation, and to my own career. That’s why I felt obliged to respond personally in this interview.”

“I didn’t expect this from Richard at all,” she says. “So long after we met. That was probably ten or twelve years ago. I think he has serious psychological problems. Because what he tells is pure fiction. There are only two true facts in the show: we met in the pub where he worked, the Hawley Arms. And we’ve seen each other two or three times since then. It’s not even true that he offered me a cup of tea for free, I was there for a full meal that I paid for myself. I didn’t even speak to him. He interrupted a conversation I was having with someone else in the pub because he heard I was Scottish and that interested him. If you ask me, he’s been obsessed with me from then on. I intend to take legal action against both him and Netflix.”

“Oh, by the way, I actually told him he looked like a baby reindeer,” she adds. “Because he had shaved his head, and that reminded me of a crazy stuffed animal I used to have. So apparently I subconsciously the title of the Netflix show was penned.”
