Together with Tijs Vanneste Karl Meesters moves to Switzerland. There they indulge their ears: they look for hidden sounds of so-called ‘singing glaciers’, pay tribute to their musical hero Freddy Mercury and learn to play the alpine horn.

In the program Tijs shows himself to be very vulnerable. “I recently had a new back door installed,” he says. That seems like a trivial thing, but it means a lot to him.

“When I do something like that, I feel terribly, ridiculously grown up,” he says. “Then I’m really proud of myself. I still dream of a leaf blower. I barely have a leaf to blow away, but then I say to myself: good job, little guy.”

“I sent a photo of my back door to my mother – it almost made me cry – and she replied that she was very proud,” she said emotionally. “And then: ‘Now let them all come and have a look, you with your back door.'”

“That’s silly, because that’s a back door,” he realizes. “But I have paid for that back door by being 100 percent who I am. I have not bowed down.”
